Drug crimes penalties in Mississippi

 
 

Possessing less than 0.1 gram of cocaine is charged as a misdemeanor, penalties may include a maximum fine of $1,000, up to one year in jail, or both.

Penalties for possession of 0.1 gram or more, but less than two grams, may include a maximum fine of $50,000, a maximum of three years in prison, or both.

Penalties for possession of two grams or more, but less than ten grams, may include a maximum fine of $250,000, a maximum of eight years in prison, or both.

Penalties for possession of 10 grams or more, but less than 30 grams, may include a maximum fine of $500,000, a maximum of 20 years in prison, or both.

Any individual arrested with more than 30 grams of cocaine, will be tried for trafficking.
